Automotive Engineering

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The degree course is consecutive and builds on the Bachelor's degree course in Automotive Engineering. As a complex technical product, the motor vehicle requires development skills at a high level and across a broad university spectrum. Development work is therefore only possible on an interdisciplinary basis. The Master's degree course in Automotive Engineering builds on a broad-based education in the natural sciences and engineering fundamentals and expands this with a specific profile in automotive engineering. This profile is focused in teaching and research on the areas of mechatronics, design of mobile systems, human-machine interaction, ergonomics, resource-saving operation of motor vehicles with regard to the efficiency of drive units and the improvement of vibration and noise comfort. The training is based on the state of the art through intensive research cooperation with the automotive and supplier industry in Germany and abroad, particularly in the areas of development, testing, production and quality assurance. Practice-oriented teaching is ensured through intensive training in vehicle-related design, measurement and simulation technology, modern practical courses in the laboratory and on the vehicle testing grounds as well as close cooperation with honorary professors and guest lecturers.
