About the Program

Social work addresses the many and varied social challenges and problems of our society. In the Social Work BASA-online degree program, students acquire the knowledge they need to recognize, reflect upon and justify the necessity to take action in situations in professional practice, to plan appropriate interventions and forms of assistance, and to evaluate the impact of these measures. The degree program's target groups are qualified professionals, e.g. educators, who work in the social sector and are looking to improve their qualifications and/or take up a new occupation in the field of social work. Graduates of the degree program work in the public sector as well as in private organizations in the social, educational and health sectors, the judiciary and business. The degree program qualifies graduates for both management functions and management assistance as well as for tasks involving coordination, planning and evaluation. Occupational fields include child and youth work, work with the elderly, rehabilitation, work with people with disabilities, counselling, educational work, community projects, intercultural work.
