Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

Media: Conception & Production (MCP) is a creative degree program that teaches students to develop, design and produce media content and formats, as well as plan and produce a film from content development through post-production. Our students learn basic filmmaking skills such as image design, sound design, editing and the entire post-production process on a professional level. Our students also learn to develop creative ideas and solutions to conceptualize fictional, documentary, journalistic and artistic media content. The program offers state-of-the-art equipment including access to various cameras, PC and macOS workstations, sound studios and two professional video studios. The program teaches its students creative methods to find high-level solutions for their ideas and content using photography and film, 2D and 3D animations, motion design, media installations or studio productions. Working in teams, students create experimental media projects or short films, gain hands-on experience and discover and develop their own strengths in the process. From the very first semester, students work on their own portfolio/demo reel for their professional career and successfully expand it with the practical final thesis. The bachelor's degree program offers many creative hands-on courses such as videography, motion design, camera & audio, media design, screenwriting, directing, editing and projects and teaches the theoretical-scientific requirements set by the profession, all in a period of seven semesters. Students attend seminars in various areas such as journalism, media technology, production management, media theory and media law. A semester abroad anchored in the curriculum enables students to broaden their intercultural perspectives for personal growth and deepen their professional knowledge.
