About the Program

Art Education has the potential to foster students' creativity and help them develop an individual identity through engagement with art and culture. The program provides a broad subject and didactic foundation. In addition to developing artistic practice, it focuses on teaching and developing artistic and creative skills of children and adolescents. Art-historical contents and examination of contemporary art complement the study. The program includes two-dimensional art (drawing, painting, photography, printmaking), three-dimensional art (sculptural and plastic design with clay, paper, wood, metal), and digital and performative art. The study of subject didactics addresses questions of learning and teaching in the arts, including theoretical basics, teaching skills development, and planning, practice and evaluation of art teaching.
