About the Program

The Master of Arts in Prehistory and Early History Archaeology will increase your knowledge of the archaeology of Central Europe and the neighbouring regions. You will learn the current methods and ways of viewing problems in the research on the following periods: Ancient history (Palaeolithic, Mesolithic), Prehistory (Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age), and Early history (Roman Iron Age, Early to High Middle Ages). Despite its practical orientation, this master programme is research-oriented. You can choose to focus on either ancient history or prehistory and early history and select complementary courses from an area of your choice. This degree will qualify you for positions in the preservation and care of field monuments, at museums, in teaching and research, with excavation companies, or in tourism.
