Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Archaeology program focuses on European archaeology, jointly offered by Prehistoric and Classical Archaeology departments. The innovative concept of the program is based on comprehensive teaching of scientific, methodological, and practical skills in landscape and site-related archaeology as well as object and image science. Students acquire in-depth knowledge about the central epochs and cultures of ancient/pre-modern Europe. The program also teaches a wide range of modern digital methods that are increasingly important in archaeological research and communication. Students gain experience in all relevant archaeological professional fields through a high practical component implemented during their studies. The acquired competencies and the possibility of developing an individual curriculum optimally prepare students for continuing their studies in a consecutive Master's program or for an early career start.
