About the Program

Students in the Ancient History degree programme will study the ancient Greek and Roman cultures as well as the predominantly Christian period of late Antiquity (approximately 1,000 B.C.E. to 700 C.E.). Students will become acquainted with basic knowledge of the historical events and geography of Classical Antiquity and gain insight into the most important methods of historical analysis and interpretation. The programme is divided into two phases of three semesters each: an introductory phase and an advanced phase. Prior to beginning the advanced phase, documentation of required language skills must be submitted (English, a second modern foreign language, and the Latinum).
