About the Program

This intensive German course is a joint project between the Language Centre and the International Office of the University of Passau, and it is one of the building blocks of the university’s strong international and multicultural orientation. The Academic German Year (AGY) starts with level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Those completing the course will be given ample preparation to pass an official German language proficiency test. Study German together with highly motivated international students! The course participants will take intensive German classes five days a week (24 units each 45 minutes) and will be taught by experienced lecturers. Applicants should provide the following documents: A cover letter (letter of motivation) in German or English, one page Curriculum vitae in German or English A photocopy or scan of your secondary school leaving certificate Examples of leaving certificates are as follows: A Levels, Apolytirio, Baccalauréat, Gaokao, high school diploma, Lise Diploması, Matura, Maturita, Scottish Highers, Te'udat bagrut, Título de Bachillerato + Pruebas de Aptitud. (This list is not exhaustive.) Please also include certificates for all academic achievements gained after secondary school, such as university transcripts and certificates.
