How can I tell if a rental apartment listing is legitimate or a scam?
Rental apartment scams are unfortunately common. Based on community experiences, you should be cautious if a listing seems too good to be true, or if someone asks you for money upfront (other than a standard security deposit). Never send money before you’ve seen the apartment in person or signed a rental contract.
