Do non-EU citizens need a visa to look for a job in Germany?
Non-EU citizens don't automatically get a residence permit when they arrive in Germany. You can typically stay for up to 90 days on a Schengen visa and use that time to look for a job. However, for a long-term stay and to actually work, you'll need to apply for the appropriate type of visa.
