Is university admission guaranteed after Studienkolleg?

No. Passing the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) does not guarantee a university place. It makes you eligible to apply in the fields your course covers, but the university always makes the admission decision.

#Why there is no guarantee

• Each programme sets its own requirements and selection rules.
• In NC (restricted-admission) programmes, any cut-off results from the applicant pool, so there is no fixed national grade.
• You still have to apply within the university's deadline — some universities use uni-assist, others take applications directly.

#How your grade is formed

• Your overall grade is the mean of your converted foreign grade and your FSP grade. The foreign grade is converted with the modified Bavarian formula.
• This is your university-entrance (HZB) grade, not a bachelor's GPA.

#Watch out

• An FSP taken at a Fachhochschule Studienkolleg does not give access to a Universität.
• The university decides which programmes fit your course type.
• If you fail the FSP, you can repeat it once.
