Will providing SWIFT branch details cause problems for my Fintiba transfer?

✓ Answered · 2 min read · 30 views

No, you won't have any issues if you provide the correct SWIFT information. Entering an incorrect SWIFT/BIC code will cause your money to be returned or result in a 4-7 day delay in processing.

Fintiba SWIFT/IBAN Details

Fintiba works with two partner banks. When you open your account, you'll be informed which bank holds your funds:

Solarisbank (most common)

  • BIC: SOBKDEBBXXX
  • IBAN: Starts with DE... (unique to you)
  • Bank address: Cuvrystraße 53, 10997 Berlin

Sutor Bank

  • BIC: SUTODEH1XXX
  • IBAN: Starts with DE... (unique to you)
  • Bank address: Hermannstraße 46, 20095 Hamburg

When Sending from Turkey

Here's the information you'll need to provide to your bank:

  1. Recipient Name (Begünstigter): Your full name (as the Fintiba account holder)
  2. IBAN: The IBAN Fintiba provides you
  3. BIC/SWIFT: As listed above
  4. Purpose of Transfer (Verwendungszweck): You can write "Sperrkonto" (a blocked account, required for your German student visa). This isn't mandatory but highly recommended.
  5. Bank address: As listed above
  6. City: Berlin or Hamburg (depending on the BIC)

When Your Bank Asks for "Branch Information"

Turkish banks often ask for a branch code/address on their transfer forms. In Germany, the concept of a bank branch (Filiale) isn't typically used for SWIFT transfers in the way Turkish banks might ask – only the bank name + BIC + IBAN + bank address is sufficient.

Leave the branch code field blank (or write "Hauptsitz" / "Headquarters") ✅ Bank address: Use the address provided above for your specific Fintiba partner bank ✅ City: This is indicated by the 5th and 6th characters of the BIC (e.g., DE for Deutschland, BB for Berlin, H1 for Hamburg)

Common Mistakes

❌ Missing even one character in the BIC → money circulates for 7-10 days, then returns to you ❌ Entering numbers instead of letters in the IBAN → automatic rejection ❌ Recipient name differs from your passport name → mismatch, transfer canceled ❌ Leaving the "Purpose of Transfer" blank → Fintiba might process your transfer slowly (recommended: "Sperrkonto YOUR_NAME")

Help

  • If you're unsure, contact Fintiba via chat support and ask for a screenshot of your account's SWIFT details.
  • If your Turkish bank doesn't understand the SWIFT format, try visiting HSBC, Garanti, or İş Bankası branches – their staff are often more experienced with international transfers.
