About the Program

The Veterinary Medicine program aims to produce theoretically and practically trained veterinarians who can practice independently and responsibly according to federal regulations. The course imparts basic veterinary, scientific, interdisciplinary and methodical knowledge, practical skills, and an ethical basis dedicated to the well-being of humans, environment, and animals. JLU offers a comprehensive program not reduced to one specific area of veterinary medicine, opening possibilities to work in all veterinary career fields. Students can select from various optional subjects for individual specialization. The program includes pre-clinical studies (1st to 4th semester) covering natural sciences and anatomic-physiological subjects, followed by clinical studies (5th to 11th semester) covering a wide range of veterinary medical subjects.
