Timber and Wood Engineering

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

About the Program

This study programme revolves around everything to do with wood and how we can use this valuable raw material. After an introductory semester, you will come to the first fork in the road of your studies: select structural timber construction or furniture and interior finishing. If you opt for structural timber construction, everything in your studies will revolve around the planning and production of such timber constructions as buildings or bridges. In the furniture and interior finishing specialisation, students deal with the development and construction of furnishings. It is just as much a matter of technical craftsmanship as of the business background of industrial production. The program offers advantages including working on practice-related tasks in small groups, application of acquired knowledge in project studies, practical semester as engineering assistant, international workshops and excursions, applied research in laboratories and workshops, and tutorials alongside studies.
