About the Program

The Systemic Therapy program at PHB offers approbation training in systemic therapy for graduates with a diploma or master's degree in psychology. The program qualifies students for the approbation examination under the current legal system and can be started regularly and completed by 2032 (or in hardship cases by 2035) in light of the Psychotherapy Act reform. Systemic therapy evolved from family therapy and focuses on the social context of psychological disorders, involving patients' significant relationships either directly through multi-person settings or indirectly through special questioning techniques and tools. The approach replaces linear cause-effect explanations with circular ones, considering the behavior of each system member as both cause and effect of others' behavior. The program emphasizes a constructivist epistemology, resource and solution orientation, and aims to develop not only theoretical knowledge and evidence-based methods but also a systemic therapeutic attitude.
