The Master's program in Sport and Nutrition is one of the few of its kind in Germany that combines sports and nutritional science knowledge. The special feature is that the Institute of Sports Science and the Institute of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Halle provide the module content with corresponding professional expertise. The main goal is interdisciplinary university education in sports and nutritional science issues. Students acquire basic competencies in nutritional physiology, human nutrition, pathophysiology, and pathogenesis of nutrition-related diseases. From the field of sports science, in-depth knowledge in sports medicine-training science, movement science, and sports psychological diagnostics is imparted. With knowledge from sports and nutrition, students can become effective in preventive health in various social areas. In addition, the program aims to enable primarily application-oriented research activities in the complex task of movement, sports, nutrition, health, and performance optimization.
