About the Program

This program prepares future teachers for teaching sports in primary schools. Students acquire scientific, pedagogical, and practical skills for teaching sports. The program includes: professional competencies through the acquisition of scientific, social science, sports medicine, training and movement science fundamentals of sports; methodical-practical action competencies and sports-related knowledge in the fields of movement; and didactic competencies for curricular and extracurricular activities in school sports. The program is part of the primary school teaching degree, where students study a combination of three subjects with a total volume of 120 credit points (LP). German and Mathematics are mandatory as subjects I and II, with the subject chosen as subject I being studied in depth (50 LP). Subject II and the third school subject - in this case Sport - each account for 35 LP.
