About the Program

Music permeates all areas of life and we encounter it in all media. It influences emotions, holds social groups together and is an important part of the history of individuals and societies. The Musicology degree course is correspondingly diverse. The range of courses includes courses in historical musicology, systematic musicology (music psychology, sociology, acoustics) and music and media technology, and students have access to a professionally equipped recording studio, numerous analog and digital instruments and devices and an extensively stocked media library. Musical ensembles, bands, choirs and orchestras in the subject also offer a wide range of opportunities for practical activities. Internships prepare students for entry into the profession.
