Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.)

About the Program

The Elementare Musikpädagogik (Elementary Music Education) is a sub-discipline of music education that deals with fundamental music instruction. The EMP approach is age-independent and offers students a broadly based study related to different target groups. Such non-specialized music instruction, also called Elementary Music Practice, can be conducted with people of all ages, for example with babies and toddlers in parent-child groups, with preschool children in early music education, with elementary school children in basic music education, with adolescents and adults up to senior age. It is an eight-semester undergraduate program that concludes with a teaching qualification for Elementary Music Practice and a teaching qualification for the secondary major up to the intermediate level. All instruments, vocals, all jazz instruments and jazz vocals that can be studied at the HfM are available as secondary majors.
