About the Program

The program aims to train church musicians with a Master's degree in Church Music who are suitable for applying for positions with outstanding profiles in the Catholic or Protestant church. Graduates of the program are expected to have a significantly more developed artistic personality in all four main fields of activity compared to Bachelor graduates: competencies in choir and orchestra conducting must meet increased requirements, as well as competencies in organ literature playing and liturgical organ playing/improvisation. In addition to these tasks directly related to liturgical processes, graduates of the Master's program are prepared for supra-congregational tasks in the context of church music further education and training, as well as in the artistic and organizational field. The study program comprises seven compulsory modules and one elective module covering areas such as organ literature playing, liturgical organ playing/improvisation, and ensemble conducting.
