Mechatronik plus PädagogikMechatronics and Education

Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

About the Program

This program combines three disciplines under one roof: mechanics, electronics, and computer science. It reflects the complex systems that have become our daily companions: cars, robots, airplanes, or manufacturing facilities are complete systems with components from different disciplines - mechatronics engineers are needed for this. In addition to engineering expertise, the program, in cooperation with the Pedagogical University in Freiburg, also provides pedagogical content that qualifies graduates to teach at vocational schools. The technical profile of this program largely corresponds to that of the parallel program Mechatronics and Autonomous Systems (MKA) and is supplemented by pedagogical foundations, including two short internships at vocational schools. These pedagogical subjects (approx. 15% of your study time) will make it easier for you to decide whether to continue studying to become a teacher after graduation or to work directly as an engineer.
