About the Program

The Mechanical Engineering program focuses on how ideas are transformed into functioning systems, machines, or products - from initial design to the finished system. Students learn how technical products are developed, designed, implemented, and operated. The bachelor's program provides a broad engineering education covering mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, machine theory, and design. This knowledge forms the basis for developing and implementing technical solutions. From the fifth semester, students can specialize in one of seven competence fields: Product Development, Vehicle Technology, Materials Science and Technology, Production Technology, Computational Engineering, Applied Computer Science, or Mechatronics and Automation Technology. The program includes a 16-week internship and concludes with a bachelor's thesis.
