About the Program

The IEMA CoMP is a one-year Master's program with approximately 14 work phases, featuring members of the Ensemble Modern as instructors, renowned guest conductors and composers, as well as professors from HfMDK. The program includes the development of solo works, chamber music, and conducted repertoire ranging from classical modernism to staged productions and premiere projects. Students present their work in approximately 30 concerts domestically and internationally. The program deepens theoretical approaches and knowledge in the field of music education. It is a specialization program for already trained instrumentalists, conductors, composers, and sound directors, building explicitly on a first professional university degree in instrumental playing, conducting, composition, sound engineering (or a comparable university degree). The central feature of this program is its placement in the direct professional field through specific projects in national and international professional contexts.
