About the Program

The teaching degree program represents the first phase of teacher education. Students are introduced to important theoretical foundations and research results for teaching and education, and are enabled to apply scientific investigation and didactic mediation procedures in a practical and practice-oriented manner. During their studies, they should acquire scientific and practical foundations for music-pedagogical action in teaching and education, and be motivated and enabled to organize independent lifelong learning. The program combines educational and social science, subject-specific and subject-didactic study components. Students acquire creative competence in dealing with the diverse forms of music, gain authentic practical music experiences, and develop individual forms of perception and realization. The didactic principle of open, action-oriented and aesthetic learning should enable subject teaching and teaching in interdisciplinary learning situations.
