About the Program

Landscape architecture comprises a wide range of activities from landscape and environmental planning to integrated urban and regional development through to open-space and building planning. The Master degree program Landscape Architecture covers the whole spectrum and enables students to specialize in individual subject areas or develop their Bachelor competences into a wide-ranging qualification. Landscape architecture integrates aesthetic, ethical, ecological, economic and social aspects to provide solutions for today's and tomorrow's challenges including globalization, climate change, demographic change, loss of biodiversity and growing urbanization. The objective is to develop and create liveable landscapes and open spaces in cities, regions and protected areas as well as public spaces, parks and neighborhoods. The four-semester Master degree program covers theories, methods and tools in landscape architecture and environmental planning through lectures and seminars. In addition, the program includes project work and a research semester to support the students' independent thinking.
