About the Program

During two semesters, the participants will be prepared for their degree programmes linguistically and in terms of subject-related content. The course curriculum comprises approx. 24 teaching hours per week. The main focus lies on acquiring an officially recognised German language certificate that is accepted in order to enrol in the respective degree programme. In addition, core courses of the participating degree programmes are attended and reviewed in tutorials. Another focus lies on introducing participants to teaching and learning methods in higher education in Germany (e.g. preparing presentations using modern media, practising taking notes in lectures, analysing and producing academic texts, training to work independently in study groups, etc.). Moreover, the students are familiarised with the structures of the university (e.g. they will practise using the university's online portals). Furthermore, intercultural training and support given through the buddy programme will help the students to settle in Germany and will facilitate their integration at the Jade University.
