Instrumentale und elementare Musikpädagogik -Instrumental and Elementary Music Pedagogy

Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.)

About the Program

The Bachelor of Music in Instrumental and Elementary Music Education (IEMP) is aimed at prospective students who want to work professionally as performing musicians and as educators on their instrument and in the elementary field with different target groups. In addition to instrumental and theoretical prerequisites, they have the potential to work with groups. The prerequisite for studying must be demonstrated in an aptitude test. The aim of the study is to form personalities who are able to develop sustainable music-pedagogical effectiveness with their strong artistic expressiveness. Graduates can actively participate in professional music life. They have basic musicological and music-theoretical knowledge to be able to reflect on their own music-making. With the bachelor's degree, they also acquire the dual qualification for starting a career as instrumental educators and as specialists in elementary music education. In this course of study, individual artistic training is also the focus. The MHL has set itself the goal that all instrumental education graduates also have a high artistic qualification. Graduates have access to artistic master's programs as well as consecutive music education programs in the areas of EMP, IGP and Rhythmics/Music and Movement.
