Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The bilingual Master of Science in Information Systems (Wirtschaftsinformatik) offers an independent, second academic degree that focuses on scientific and advanced professional content and skills. The program concentrates on demanding tasks at the operational level (especially the design of complex, cross-company business processes) as well as supporting and implementing strategic planning of corporate information and communication systems. At the same time, the program serves particularly committed and qualified students as preparation for subsequent doctoral studies. The program is distinctly application-oriented and interdisciplinary. Since Information Systems in Essen is one of the largest in the German-speaking world in terms of the number of professors, this enables a wide range of research topics and offers diverse specialization opportunities. The study program prepares students to move confidently in an internationally shaped professional environment. Selected courses are offered in English. The modular structure of the program also makes it easier to complete individual modules at a foreign university.
