About the Program

The consecutive Master's program in Computer Science is a two-year university study that builds upon the knowledge from the Bachelor's program in Computer Science. Students can choose a specialization area in computer science and gain the ability to perform demanding development and independent research work in computer science. Currently, the department offers the following specialization areas: Algorithmics and Deduction, Embedded Systems and Robotics, Information Systems, Intelligent Systems, Distributed and Networked Systems, Software Engineering, Visualization and Scientific Computing, Data Science (only in specialization 1). A theory module, a module in formal foundations, compulsory elective lectures from other computer science areas, and a large free elective area complement the two specializations. The Master's program begins with about two semesters of lectures from the above-mentioned areas. The theory modules should be completed as early as possible. In the second or third semester, a research project must be completed in the chosen specialization. The program concludes with the Master's thesis, which covers the entire fourth semester. The program has a total workload of 120 ECTS credits.
