Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Geoinformation Sciences focuses on geoinformation that we encounter daily, both openly and hidden: as maps on the internet, in navigation apps on smartphones, in weather reports, in 3D city models, or in artificial intelligence. Modern surveying instruments, increasingly frequent aerial photography, rapidly deployable UAVs, an increasing number of satellites, increasingly powerful high-speed cameras, and simple and inexpensive sensors on buildings, vehicles, or people - all these devices produce geodata at ever-increasing speeds, greater variety, and larger volumes. The program offers three study profiles: Geodesy, Geoinformatics, and Geodata Analysis. Through projects and the master's thesis, it is possible to study in a practice-oriented and research-oriented manner. The program received top marks in the CHE ranking 2022 in the area of practice-oriented courses and research funding.
