About the Program

The Master's program in Photography - Photographic Studies enables students to independently formulate socially relevant topics, implement them photographically, and critically question and classify visual and media developments. The program focuses on the interaction of photography in its various forms, the media and visual processes in an increasingly visually oriented society and culture, and the scientific and artistic-creative deepening and expansion in various photographic genres and media dialects. The three-semester study aims equally at professional qualification, expansion of creative skills and forms of expression, interdisciplinary cooperation, and critical reflection on media developments. The program includes seminars, workshops, and lectures on professional and cross-genre content. Independent work is required and encouraged to best prepare students for professional requirements.
