About the Program

The Bachelor's Programme Film concentrates on teaching artistic, scientific and technical basics for professional filmmaking. In teaching, students learn what film is all about: an understanding of subject matter, dramaturgy, artistic design and production strategies. The program offers seven specialisations: Creative Producing, Director of Photography, Editing Picture & Sound, Film Directing, Production Desing, Screenwriting, or VFX & Animation. The program focuses on storytelling and teamwork abilities. Students gradually gain expertise in their specialisation while developing their individual artistic style and voice. The curriculum includes specialist modules conveying artistic and professional know-how, project modules for realizing ideas from concept to finished script or film, and media science modules that impart media science knowledge and social competence.
