Film and Sound Bachelor of ArtsFilm and Sound

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's program Film & Sound focuses on the two design levels of filmmaking: image and sound. The program is unique because students from both focus areas (Film and Sound Design) work together on several film projects for different platforms. Students learn about audio-visual storytelling, working in teams, and planning and implementing film projects that can be fictional, documentary, or experimental. The seven-semester project-based study is practice and career-oriented with specializations in Film and Sound Design. The Film specialization teaches creative and technical fundamentals for film production and post-production, while the Sound Design specialization focuses on understanding the entire workflow and learning to design, conceptualize, and reflect on film sound designs. The program also includes freely selectable seminars from graphic design, object and spatial design, photography, or filmmaking, as well as key competencies needed for self-employment in a creative profession.
