About the Program

Our Electrical and Aeronautical Engineering degree program prepares you for a wide range of professional fields in aviation, with a particular focus on the development and operation of electronic aircraft systems as well as electrical components and propulsion systems in aviation. After acquiring basic knowledge of electrical engineering, you will go on to learn more about the specific requirements and typical aspects of airlines, maintenance and repair operations, air traffic control and airports. You will apply your theoretical knowledge in practical tasks and projects, from implementing flight models in a research simulator to designing measuring instruments for flight tests. An up-and-coming field covered in great detail during the course are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). You will already begin learning about the construction and operation of drones in your first semester. RheinMain University of Applied Sciences has made a name for itself in the field of alternative, electric propulsion systems with battery storage, fuel cells and hydrogen technology, and is researching their potential application in the aviation industry in various projects.
