About the Program

The officially accredited Master's program Contemporary Dance Education (MA CoDE) is designed for professional and experienced dancers, performers, and choreographers who want to explore the foundations of their work. The program, conceptualized under the direction of Prof. Ingo Diehl and anchored at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt am Main, responds to the growing demands and current artistic developments in the professional field. The full-time English-language study aims to develop competencies for developing and communicating the latest approaches in dance education. The program focuses on comparative methodology in contemporary dance, comparative methodology of group processes, and somatic practices. In the theoretical orientation, new approaches to body research and artistic documentation processes are tested alongside dance and training science. The goal is to train dance educators who can combine their pedagogical activities practically and theoretically with the highest artistic standards, as training leaders, choreographic assistants, dance educators at universities and technical colleges, in private dance schools, or for dance in the municipal sector.
