About the Program

The focus of the study programme is on the preservation of art and cultural objects, which are to be preserved for future generations both in terms of their material qualities and their historical and cultural context. Students learn how to examine, document, classify and professionally protect objects from damage, and try out basic methods of conservation and restoration on original objects. Sound theoretical principles are combined with technical and practical skills. Students can specialize in one of the following areas: Polychrome Wooden Objects and Paintings, Furniture, Wooden Objects and Material Combinations, Archive Material, Book and Graphic, or Stone Objects and Architectural Surfaces.
