Master of Music (M.Mus.)

About the Program

The "Master of Music Conducting Music Theatre" course is aimed at graduating conductors whose performance and talent clearly indicate that they are capable of a successful career in theater. Using exemplary works from the repertoire, all aspects of working with singers, an orchestra and scenic realization are examined and the development of one's own artistic personality is promoted. In addition, piano reduction playing and accompaniment are deepened and, for example, an Italian course is offered. The conducting class works with a professional orchestra at least once a semester and presents the results of this collaboration in the university's concert hall. There is also the opportunity to assist with music theater productions at the university's Rheinische Opernakademie.
