About the Program

The resource and climate-friendly renewal of our cities is the major task of the 21st century. Building climatology is a future-oriented professional field that combines aspects of architecture and various engineering disciplines, enabling graduates to develop sustainable building concepts. This engineering degree combines structural knowledge from architecture with skills from the field of building services engineering. Special courses such as energy-efficient building design, building modernisation, façade construction, building systems technology, renewable energies, heating engineering and air conditioning link the different subject areas. Elective modules and project work allow students to specialise and shape their studies. Through practice-oriented, academic teaching, this degree aims to train independent engineers, able to take responsibility for their projects. By taking an interdisciplinary approach, building climatologists can answer any questions on the development of comprehensive energy and indoor climate concepts for the renovation and modernisation of both new and existing buildings.
