BildhauereiSculpture

Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.)

About the Program

Bildhauerei (Sculpture) encompasses all three-dimensional artistic work that is cast, formed, screwed, cut, or glued, etc., and is defined in a specific relationship to the surrounding space. The body can also be understood as material. The spatial relationship is determining for the distinction of what can be 'sculpture' and is reflected in the terms 'sculpture/installation/spatial conception'. The study focuses on practical work and intensive search for what art can be. Excellent workplaces are available in the new studios in Knooper Weg and in the workshop hall Arfrade. The class meets every week to develop criteria and standards for art through conversation and precise observation. Guests and excursions expand the horizon beyond the university. Technically, almost everything is possible. Through exhibitions, the 'research laboratory' study is put on stage.
