The civil engineer has skills and knowledge in the competence fields of structural engineering, hydraulic engineering/water management, spatial/infrastructure planning and transport, soil mechanics/foundation engineering, environmental technology/resource management, construction informatics and construction operations/construction management. He/she is thus fundamentally capable of planning, dimensioning, building and operating structures of all kinds. The Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering is a modularized attendance program that is divided into a compulsory and an elective area. Students are taught scientific-mathematical and engineering fundamentals from the fields of statics, strength theory, geotechnics, construction technology, building construction and hydromechanics.
