About the Program

Students of Art Education gain practical skills and develop their abilities in critical reflection. They explore both the experience of visual arts and the theory of art and its communication. The subject Art Education must be studied in the Interdisciplinary Master's program in combination with another subject. In the flexible variant and in the variant suitable for teaching degree programs, it is available as a major or minor subject, in the variant Aisthesis. cultural and media studies, it can be chosen as a minor subject. The program focuses on knowledge of art teaching methods, theory of aesthetic education, skills in mediation between art and society, and development of a unique artistic personality. The Professorship offers workshops and studios for various techniques including drawing, painting, etching, lithography, screen printing, ceramics, and multimedia design.
