Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Applied Theatre Studies is a consecutive study program that builds on relevant bachelor's degrees. The aim of the program is to familiarize students with the theory and practice of theater and to enable them to reflect on theatrical arts and processes and their cultural, intellectual-historical, and social context both theoretically and practically. The foundations, functions, aesthetics, and historical forms of theater and related arts are explored and tested both theoretically and artistically-practically. Students should be enabled to deal independently with both given and self-chosen tasks in practice and theory and to set their own priorities during their studies. The program can be studied with two different focuses: 'Practice of Performative Arts' or 'Theory and Aesthetics of Performative Arts'. The chosen focus will be indicated on the certificate.
