Can I stop paying rent if my landlord offers alternative housing during renovations?
If your landlord makes your apartment uninhabitable due to renovations, they are obligated to provide you with alternative accommodation. In this situation, you cannot stop paying your rent. If you choose to stay somewhere else that you prefer, you'll generally have to cover those costs yourself.
