With a conditional admission, does my language school have to be in the same city as the university?

✓ Answered · 1 min read · Community · 9 views

Usually not. With a conditional admission, what matters is that you reach the language level the university requires. Where you attend the language course is generally less important.

Points to check

  • Your conditional admission letter: it states the required level and any conditions. Read it carefully, because what it says applies to your case.
  • Recommended schools or courses: some universities recommend specific language schools or courses. A recommendation is not automatically a requirement, but check whether the letter makes it one.
  • Proof of the level: make sure the certificate you will earn is accepted by your university.

Caveat: individual universities can set their own conditions. If the letter is unclear, ask the university's international office before you book a course.
