#Alternatives (Cheaper)

#Which One Should You Choose?

#Choose Goethe if:

• Your goal is C1+ professional use
• Your goal is pedagogical training/academic career in German
• The prestige of "Goethe" on your CV is important
• You want a small group + premium experience in a classroom setting

#Choose an Alternative if:

• You need A1/A2 for your visa, Hartnack or DeutschAkademie are sufficient
• The mid-range segment is sufficient for B1/B2 student life
• Exam strategy: a cheaper course + a separate exam center

#Practical Advice

• A1 → B1 journey: Hartnack or DeutschAkademie (total 3,000-4,500 €)
• B2 → C1 goal + academic: Goethe (1 course 1,500 €)
• C1 and above + professional: Goethe or private lessons

#Cost/Time Calculation

• The 1.5x cost of a Goethe course covers DeutschAkademie + Telc exam fee (~120 €).
• If you are a very fast learner, Goethe's class pace will not tire you; if you are a slow learner, VHS long-term + cheap is more logical.
