Über das Programm
Modern medicine is constantly progressing - both in the basic subjects and in the medical disciplines. The practical demands on doctors and medical researchers are constantly increasing. To meet these challenges during training, the Medical Faculty of the University of Hamburg has designed the model course "Medicine - iMED". Its central guiding principle is scientific orientation - the imparting of a critical attitude, problem and method awareness, structuring ability and independence, as well as the ability to orient oneself to evidence-based science. The training of practical skills is just as much a task as the promotion of psycho-social competencies that are essential for the medical profession. Through targeted changes in the curriculum and the restructuring of courses, space is created for more self-determined learning. The content can be chosen and deepened by the students according to their interests. From the first semester onwards, medical studies integrate theoretical, theoretical-clinical and clinical-practical aspects, so that theory and practical clinical work can be continuously networked. All training content is developed from three perspectives: practical competencies in diagnosis and therapy, theoretical foundations, and social interaction with patients and colleagues. The restructuring of the degree program has also strengthened the integration of eLearning. Classroom teaching is now supported by learning content in a new learning environment, for example through the provision of files, interactive elements such as online examination questions and forums.
