Über das Programm

This master's programme in Mechanical Engineering provides in-depth knowledge and methods for engineers in different positions, ranging from product development to production and distribution as well as customer service. Students learn to utilize engineering methods and findings of the latest state of technology as well as to develop new methods. The program offers exploratory learning in seminars and lectures, with access to 30 up-to-date laboratories of the faculty Technology and Bionics. Graduates can work in many industry sectors including research and development, production, marketing, distribution, and servicing of technical equipment. The master course comprises 90 ECTS points, with 40 covered by mandatory modules (including Research Methods for Engineers, Numerical Methods for Simulation, General Management, Applied Research Project, Master Thesis and Colloquium), 26 by optional modules from focus fields like 'Digital Engineering', 'Development and Design', and 24 ECTS points through the master thesis and colloquium. The program includes modules in areas such as Structural Analysis, Heat Transfer, Materials Selection and Simulation, Advanced CAD, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Model Based Design of Mechatronic Systems, Production Management, and Sustainability. The program is offered at Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, a young university founded in 2009 with over 7,200 students from more than 100 nations. The university has two campuses in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort with state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, laboratories and technology. The university's degree programmes aren't designed to fill 'academic ivory towers', but rather produce graduates that can effectively apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts and meet the rigorous demands of the international job market. Through applied teaching and learning, small class sizes, a diverse atmosphere of intercultural exchange, and integrated internship/placement requirements, the university trains the specialists of tomorrow, who are well equipped with the skills to prosper in a globalised marketplace and make the jump from academia to a professional career.
