Master of Science in Supply Chain Management

Master

Über das Programm

Study Supply Chain Management (SCM) from home and receive a regular Master’s degree from a top-ranked private German University. The global trade of goods, the movement of people, and the continuous exchange of information and ideas necessitate a deep understanding of transport chains and the mechanisms of exchange. This includes knowledge of existing design possibilities and the development of innovative methods to address emerging challenges in a world that is increasingly influenced by digital technologies. The primary objective of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is to secure continuous improvements in competitive advantage and to effectively manage the entire process from strategic planning to execution. Supply chain management has evolved from a crucial tool for operational enhancement to a strategic element that differentiates competitors. As such, SCM plays a vital role in the success of leading companies, creating value for both the business and its customers. The ongoing need to develop, reconfigure, and optimise supply chains to suit changing conditions necessitates a thorough understanding and application of diverse technological, product, process, geographical, and structural data and insights. This also involves crafting responses tailored to specific situations and anticipating future trends. Therefore, the industry requires proficient leaders who can strategically manage SCM as a core business function. Such strategic development and implementation demand leaders equipped with the determination and skills to overcome these challenges. Managers and project leaders need effective methods to manage and simplify increasing complexities. They must understand the interconnections within supply chain elements and how to leverage the vast amounts of data exchanged. Mastery of data analytics and the application of tools and methods for enhancing inter-organisational coordination, processes, and communication are essential. The practical orientation of the programme is evident in its curriculum, which ties academic learning to real-world issues, involves practitioners from leading companies across various sectors, and includes collaboration with businesses through case studies and simulations. The programme is designed to meet current corporate needs and considers the broader organisational context, including supplier relationships and network management. Degree and credits: Master of Science, 120 ECTS
