Über das Programm

In the master's program Industrial Informatics, you will gain advanced knowledge in the field of application of electrical engineering and computer science: from automation systems to robotics and mechatronics, from embedded systems to modeling and visualization, from network technologies to security concepts. The program offers a practical education in industrial applications of electrical engineering and computer science. The carefully selected content ensures a successful entry into fields that are in high demand due to the integration of information technologies in the industrial environment. In addition to lectures and internships, advanced specialization projects and accompanying seminars prepare students intensively for independent and scientific work. These topics often stem from current research projects, typically conducted in cooperation with companies.

The program is divided into two specializations: Information Processing for Cyber-Physical Systems (in German) and Industrial cyber-physical systems (in English). The curriculum is structured in three thematic blocks: Block 1 covers advanced knowledge in formal basics of industrial computer science and problem-solving skills; Block 2 consists of elective modules in industrial computerization, digitalization systems, and industrial information processing; Block 3 includes projects for independent scientific focus or practical application of content from Blocks 1 and 2. The program focuses on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS), industrial digitalization and Industry 4.0 technologies, engineering of Industry 4.0-enabled systems, and industrial automation, mechatronics and robotics systems.

The program includes compulsory modules such as Digitalization Engineering, Group Project, Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems, Industrial Internet of Things, Data Science and Analytics, Mathematical Modelling of ICPS, Peer Project, Robotic Systems, and Master's thesis with colloquium.
